How to approach sports performance training for recreational athletes to NBA stars
In this episode Dr. Ilan Green interviews our guest, coach Nate Shemtov, about his experience working in various levels of strength and conditioning including the private sector, NCAA athletics, and the NBA. Coach Nate provides insight into how he approaches training athletes of all ages and experience levels including how he determines programming necessities based on analyzing the needs of each athlete and the demands of their particular sport.

Nate Shemtov is a Strength and Conditioning Coach with a diverse background and unique perspective into training for optimal health, performance, and overall resiliency. His career thus far includes working in multiple sectors of Strength and Conditioning including:
Working on the strength and conditioning staff at UCLA training athletes ranging from Olympic track and field, to soccer, volleyball, swimming & basketball.
Working with the team at Jay Glazer’s Unbreakable Performance to train athletes including professional MMA fighters and NFL stars
Working with IMPACT Basketball helping collegiate stars prepare for the NBA Combine, training international teams including the Indonesian National Basketball team, and working with elite level NBA players looking to gain a competitive advantage
He rose through the ranks and accepted a role working on the strength and conditioning staff for the Indiana Pacers during the 2018-2019 NBA season.
He returned and accepted a job working at Mamba Sports Academy as an internship coordinator and in charge of high school and collegiate athletic development.
Now he’s currently working at the Monarch Athletic Club in West Hollywood - a facility that provides a multi-disciplinary, science-based approach to health and wellness led by a team of physicians, physiotherapists, and S&C staff.
